Question: Acrylic paint on an Artists Canvas Messenger Bag!?
Hi to all:) I know the bags are meant to be painted on , but if I'm using a paint brush and acrylic paint, do I need to prime the surface or spray anything on it afterward for weather protection!? I sure hope someone can help , I have a lot of ideas and really want to get started! Thank you to all in advance! :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

Get some fabric medium!.
(aka; liquitex fabric medium, Golden's GAC900)

It makes any acrylic paint suitable for painting on fabric and it is weatherproof!. No priming or sealing is needed!. If you use it it also helps A LOT with how it handles!.

It is almost always a good plan if you wash the bag before you paint!. Most cotton is treated with an ant static agent so it handles betterin production of the bag, but this substance may cause your paint to flake pretty soon after you are finished!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends what sort of material the canvas is is it plastic, synthetic or cotton !?If its plastic ou can paint directly on the surface, without any problems as acrylic is a plastic polymer!. If the material is cotton or a weave material then you have to prime the surface with white paint to seal the surface to be later painted on good luck !Www@QuestionHome@Com
