Question: What is the best type of camera for an amateur who wants to take high-res!. pictures!?
I've recently been intrigued by photography, and I would like to start taking actual photos that are GOOD!. I have a really scheisse camera, thats only 5MP's (i think!? i haven't really looked) and I don't like the look of the pictures!.!.!.really crappy, anyway, I'm willing to learn how to use one of those "complicated" cameras!. What kind of camera would be sufficient for my situation!? I would like it to be UNDER $500!.

Photography lessons would be more useful!.

5 MP is perfectly capable of producing prints that can be enlarged to 11 x 14 without any problems!. My old Panasonic (3 MP) was fine for 8 x 10 prints!.

Just to show you that it's the photographer, and not the camera, your samples above, the 3rd one, was taken with a point and shoot Canon camera, by the way!.

Not knowing what it is, I think any dSLR will be usable!.

Oh dear!. That doesn't look like a camera!. Disappointing product from Sony!.

Any dSLR (even the least expensive one) would give you better, (clearer) photos than that!. They all have larger sensor than that little thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Look into the Canon Rebel XT or Nikon D40!.

To get pics like that first one, you'll also want to get some sort of photo editing software!.!.!. Photoshop Elements is good for beginners!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
