Go get some plastilena di Roma!. $8 for a two pound block (roughly) Get some plaster of Paris, much cheaper, and learn how to make maquettes (small statues) cast molds of them them in plaster of Paris and use papier mache (torn paper in wallpaper paste) to recreate them!. 2!. Take up abstraction!. Actually near the end of the Abstraction period Larry Rivers and Frank O'Hara did a very funny essay called "how to make a painting" which is inspiring this answer!. It begins: "1!. Do something" 2!. Now do something else!." There is a profound secret hidden there!. What you produce is more important than "how creative you are"!. Learn new skills like sculpture, or relearn them as I just did -- try making masks this halloween season!. Apply your drawing talent to the new skills and the new media, and they will suggestg new ideas you can bring back to your old media!. I know, this sounds weird, but I always get inspiration for things I want to draw or write while I'm in the shower!. =] Relax, and don't worry about overcoming your block!. Its a way to clear your mind, but something for you hands to do!. Don't think about your other artwork!. Just let your mind clear!.!.!.!. it'll come to you sometime when you've allowed your mind to go blank!. Don't just stare at it all day!. Give it some space!. also keep a pad/pencil by your bed!.!.!.I find the best ideas come to me right before I fall asleep!. "To be wide awake, you just have to STOP THINKING" :)Www@QuestionHome@Com I just leave it for a bit- I find nothing worse that forced art, If Im forcing ideas out I dont really end up with anything worth while!. I find ideas come to me late at night before I sleep as Ive been listening to music, and looking into things that interest me online etc!. At college they tell us to research!.!.!. maybe this isnt something you really want to do all day, but if you find an image you like on the internet search up the artist or designer, soemtimes looking things up inspires you more than you think!. I subconciously pick ideas up this way!. Good luck, I know hwo frustrating it can be!.
