Most all of the major studio lighting manufacturers make portable power supplies!. So if you have studio lights then I would suggest matching the power supply from the same manufacurer!. ( examples are those made by Profoto at www!.profoto-usa!.com; mobilights at www!.JTLcorp!.com; Bowens travelpack battery at www!.bowensusa!.com; the vagabond II from PaulCBuff!.com and many more) many of these as noted can be gotten also at B&H photo or adorama

As you will be shooting where you do not have access to a vehicle that would mean carrying the stuff!. If thats the case have you looked at using multiple speedlights!. A great site to see what you can do with these camera flashes is www!.strobist!.com Go to the lighting 101 section first and then the lighting 102 section!. Some great information and setup thereWww@QuestionHome@Com

home depot has gasoline powered generators starting at about 700 dollars i think!.!.!.
nothing is cheap!.!.!.i sympathize with your dilemma as i face the same problem and am leaning toward the generator!. although there are some high powered spotlights that run on rechargeable batteries for about 25 or so dollars also at home depot, and they may work with a light diffusing system like the umbrellas or something like that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are a wide variety of lighting systems!. Cheap limits the choices!. You can find them at several photography supply websites!. One I use regularly is B & H Photo and Video!. They have almost any type of lighting you would need at reasonable prices!. You can see what's there and then try some of the used photo supply sites or ebay for lower cost once you decide what you want!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A deep cycle battery and an inverter, you don't need the car!. The question is how many amps do you need and for how long!? Or, what are you trying to do!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

use portable flash units powered by batteries, constant you could use a torch - add a blue gel if its halogen to turn it to more daylight
