Start with your fill light to your left, about an arms length away from your tripod!. Meter it to be one stop under your desired f stop!.!.!.add your main to your right at a forty five degree angle from your subject on your right and with both lights meter it to your desired f stop (you can use a meter or a grey card)!. That's your starting point!. I recommend a back light and possibly a hair light as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get the book "Light Science & Magic" - it will teach you how to place the lights!. In the meantime, turn one softbox to 50% power!. Put one softbox at arm's length to your left!. Put the other at arm's length to your right!. Have the subject facing you and looking to your right!. Don't use the umbrella light just yet!. That's one way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
