http://imontero!.deviantart!.com/The thing is that as a career, id be happier drawing and designing from my own ideas in illustration than bringing shapes together a la graphic design!.
I am afraid that i choose the wrong career I don't want to go do graphics if i cant draw, and i don't want to draw without getting all the fundamentals of design!.
Is it better to get one in university, then get the other at a college level to get the best of both worlds!?
Chances are i'll get a scholarship in the future so i gotta pick wisely

From someone who goes too an art college I will tell you that the two most common majors at my school are both graphic design and illustration, and I believe animation is the third!. I think that illustration would be the best fit for you but if at all possible I would try to find out if you know anyone who happens to be in either industry and get the low down from them!. If you want to draw from your own imagination and ideas you should try and be an illustrator!. However it is basically impossible to go to any art school without doing the basic foundation classes first before you can get into the curriculum of your major unless that art school sucks!.

From what you're saying, you could major in illustration but take graphic design classes as your elective!.!.!.or you could major in illustration and minor in graphic design!. That way, you can major in whatever you prefer (but you'll still have backround knowledge on the other subject)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Learn graphic design as your major, but take a ton of classes in illustration!. Never hurts to be able to do both, and if need be, work in both at the same time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
