Glossy

Pros:

Photos will have a shiny finish!.
Colors are vibrant!.
Images are usually crisp and sharp
Glossy finish does not produce a textured look when scanned and converted to digital!.

Cons:

They can get fingerprints and smudges!.
To remove fingerprints and smudges, you need to use a photo cloth and/or a liquid solution!. Rubbing a photo, no matter how soft the cloth is, can produce scratches!.

Matte paper is not textured!. It is smooth, and not shiny!. The colors come out rather dull!. It is similar to the paper used for business cards!.

Which one is better really just depends on what you're printing!. I personally think that glossy is better for portraits, and matte is better for landscapes and architecture!.

I shoot a lot of portraits myself, and I actually prefer to use lustre, which is kind of between glossy and matte!. The bumpy textured paper that you're talking about is lustre!. The bumps help to reduce the visibility of fingerprints!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
