Question: Photography project: how do I make this look more "artistic"!?
For a project in photography my teacher is making us involve rocks, so I wanted to make a heart out of rocks, this is what I have now: http://i34!.tinypic!.com/2roq9o0!.jpg it's obviously not up to par!. What can I add to make it look nicer!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

okay that is pretty basic, but i'm sure you know that!.!.!.i would try to get a bit more creative with it!.!.!.if you are dead set on using them in that way then try a more extreme angle, however i would do something a little more natural, unless you teacher wanted you to manipulate it!? OR try stacking them more, do a smaller heart, filled with rocks stacked on each other a little messy but still in the shape of a heart and also find a more appealing place to do it the concrete isn't helping, have a beach nearby!? do it near the shore line with the water coming in and at an angle not straight on!.!.!.

and make sure you are in focus and that your aperture and shutter speed are correct for the lighting also try a shallow depth of field so maybe the first curve of the heart is in focus but it fades out to a soft blur as it goes further into the pic

eh red chalk might help if that is the only area you can do this image in then i wouldn't color it in perfectly kinda scribbly

the b&w is MUCH better, still play with is some more get some more choices

OR do it like that again!.!.add some red chalk and leave the red chalk as the ONLY thing in color do a scribbly smaller heart inside the rock or two interconnecting ones inside the big oneWww@QuestionHome@Com

Add in some colorful broken glass chips!.

Could also make the base of the heart curve one way!.

Lay it on an interesting colorful background!.

Sort the rocks as to color and make the heart stick out as a darker color amongst lighter rocks!.

Glue each rock composing the heart to the end of a stick and plant them in sand or soil!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you can edit the photo, make it sepia, and make it have more contrast and light, it looks dull and uncolorfulWww@QuestionHome@Com

FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!. YOU IMAGE IS NOT SHARP!.

try different types of lighting, or a more interesting backround!.

the third one is on the right track but still not sharpWww@QuestionHome@Com

If it only 'involves' rocks, then add more too it and enhance the rocks features!. Its a heart!? LIGHT IT ON FIREE!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

the image is not in focus!. Start over again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

there are some noise in your picture!.!.in my opinion, you should edit the rock to make the colour more smooth!.!.thanks
