Question: So what is a great job I can get having to do with photography!?
Ok so I am 17 years old right now and have been taking photos for about 2 years now as more of a hobby that I fell in love with!. I really am considering having a job as a professional photographer but I need to figure out what exactly I want to in that field!. I am self taught but this year I am taking a basic digital photography class in college as part of a running start course to graduate high school and get an associates degree early!. After that I don't know what I will do, but I'm leaning towards attending an Art Institute somewhere in the U!.S!. Anyway I Just need some tips or ideas on what would be more beneficial to go with in the field of photography and what it will take to get there!. I really appreciate any help! Www@QuestionHome@Com

It can be quite hard work breaking into a career in photography, i graduated college in 03 and finally this year just landed a steady job in photography working for a surf company!.!.!.(which i love)

The biggest thing i can tell you about it, you seem to already have, a great love/passion for it!. That will keep you going because it can be hard, there will be a lot of rejection, but there will be a lot of opportunities!. Typically you have to start at the bottom and work up!. Try looking up photographers in your area and see if they need assistants, or whatever college you decide to go to, try to see if you can get in with the campus newspaper!. Hey I had to start at Olan Mills which i hated! But eventually it got better, picked up a few weddings as an assistant, started doing them on my own, started shooting families, models!.!.ect!.!.and just kept searching monster!.com once i had my degree and finally found my job i have now!. and let me say this with photography a degree doesn't mean anything unless you have an eye for it!.

I looked at your stuff and i have some advice (hope you don't mind) with your landscape/nature type stuff, try going a little more natural, don't mess with it so much in photoshop, that's going to force you to look at things differently!.!.!.i'm not saying there is something wrong with yours don't take it that way, just try to get your images amazing all by themselves, also with the ocean/water shots work on your horizon line, get them straight ( as again to not have to fix it in photoshop)!.!.!.!.i have more!.!.!.but i don't want you to take this all the wrong way i think you definitely have potential and i think it is great that you love it so much!.

as with careers what do you want to do with photography!? that's what you need to figure out!.!.!.just search photography jobs (there are plenty different kinds) do you want to be freelance!? own your own business!? work for someone else!? have a traveling job!? ect!.!.!.

anyway i also have a myspace photography page and if you are interested in any more advice or ideas just email me on here and i can add you!.!.!.good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
