Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Artists often do not sign some of their paintings, and for many reasons!. Sometimes a painting is a practice piece we think no one will ever see!. Sometimes we let a painting dry before signing, but then forget to go back and sign it!. Sometimes we just forget!. Vincent produced so many works so quickly that my guess is that he signed only those he thought were important, like those he produced as a gift or those that might go to the gallery his brother worked at!. By the way, the Mona Lisa is not signed!. So, an unsigned painting by a master is not that uncommon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com He probably thought that many of them were not that great !. Unsure !.!.
