Position:Home>Visual Arts> Canon 85mm f/1.2L vs. Zeiss Planar 1.4/85?

Question: Canon 85mm f/1!.2L vs!. Zeiss Planar 1!.4/85!?
Now that Zeiss will be producing lenses with an EF mount, and I'm in the market for a top of the line portrait lens, I'm trying to come up with a reason to favor one over the other!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Zeiss had an excellent name for optical equipment dating back through the last century, but now even cheap Sony camcorders have 'Zeiss' lenses!. The Canon lens appears to have a better spec 1!.2 as opposed to 1!.4, and the Japanese have come along way with lens quality!. I would wait and read any reviews before finally making my decision!. the zeiss lenses on broadcast TV cameras are great, talk about fast and smooth

lets put it this way - would you prefer a german car or japanesse!?

The prove is in the MTF results, goto dpreview or the like and look for the lenses test results

You will not notice the difference between 1!.2 and 1!.4!. The difference in the f stop is not enough to make a difference to the common man!. If you have a point to make by telling others that your lens is "faster" than the other, they get the 1!.2!.
