Figure how much paint to buy by measuring the area to be covered!. If the surface is smooth calculate about 300-400 square feet per gallon!. If a rough surface then double or triple the amount of paint needed!. Really dirty ceilings may require additional coats or dark colors as well!.

You will need a roller pan and a paint roller and extension pole!. The pile or nap of the roller should be for what kind of surface!. 1/4 inch for a smooth surface and a deeper pile for a rough surface!. You will need a 2 inch windowsill brush-- that is a tapered brush for cutting in the corners and where the ceiling and walls meet!.

You will need some floor coverings, rags, newspapers, stir sticks, 150 grit sandpaper, spackle, spackle knife or blade, a step ladder!?, mask and safety glasses or goggles!.

Patch any holes or cracks with spackle!. After thoroughly dry sand smooth with 150 grit sandpaper!. Then spot paint these areas first-- be sure to feather them so they blend in!.

Have plenty of fresh air-- good ventilation and don't breathe the fumes!.

Good luck!
