Yeah!. Forget poses and tricks!. Get the person comfortable, make sure you have all your technical stuff running right!. Talk with the person as you shoot!. Keep moving yourself around!. Get them to follow you with their eyes!. If they are self conscious, take a break, chat them up!. Make them relax!.

If they are any good at taking direction (one person in fifty answers this description) suggest some ways to hold their head or body!.

This is not so much a trick as an important observation!. When people smile, the smile has a very short life!. Right when it forms on their face is when it looks natural and best!. Try to get the person to smile spontaneously, and when it happerns, shoot bofre the smile starts looking strained or tired!.

That piece of information is in itself a lesson in how to approach the shooting process!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Make sure all of your tech stuff is right before the shoot!. You don't want to miss a shot because the settings weren't right on your camera or whatever!. Try and keep your model calm & relaxed, looking natural!. If it doesn't look natural when you are shooting it, it probably won't look natural in print!. Try doing a shoot at different locations!. The different locations provide different problems for you to deal with but you can get some awesome shots in some really cool locations if you know what you are doing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

those are all great answerer's but i want to add one on the subject of lighting DO NOT USE THE ON CAMERA FLASH useing it will lead to harsh shadows and very flat pictures remember if you don't want the background to distract keep your subject 5-8 feet in front of it and use good lighting and reflectors to get light from under the face and try to get the catch lights in the eyes(that sparkle) otherwise they look board and lifeless also have the model look at your shoulder or somewhere just slightly away from the lens makes it less creepy then looking directly into the cameraWww@QuestionHome@Com

Good lighting is important!. Poses and tricks won't matter if the photo is blurred and dark!. Take so many photos that your subject gets used to the camera!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Never skimp on the food and drinks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
