Question: Why is my lens foggy!? DSLR!?
Recently I have been noticing a fog on some of my photos taken with a Canon 28-80mm lens!. I have not had the same thing occur when using my other lenses, so I'm assuming its not my camera (Canon 400D)!. The fog seems to appear when I use a smaller depth of field, but not so much if I just leave the camera on the auto 'P' setting!. Does anyone know what could be causing this!? I don't have much hope for the lens now but its one of my favourites so I'm hoping its something fixable!.!.!.
I always look after my equipment and that particular lens hasn't been anywhere that the others haven't as I always keep them together!.

These are two examples of what I'm talking about:

And here you can see a much clearer shot taken with a different lens:

(please don't critique the images themselves, they're only examples to show the fog!)

Thanks!.

Okay!. I was able to look at the pictures via your other link!. Thanks!.

Take the lens off the camera and hold it up to the light and see if you see any thing inside the lens!. On occasion if the lens was not sealed properly when made you will get fungus inside between the elements!. IF this is the case then the lens will have to be taken apart and cleaned!. If you don't see anything I would take the camera to a good camera store and have them look at it!. Most will look for free and if they see a problem can tell you what it is and how much it would cost before before they do anything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Have you checked to make sure the lens is clean!? Its possible that either you or someone may have gotten a smudge on the lens!. If the front element is clean, take the lens to a professional camera shop and ask their advice!.

Could moisture have gotten in your lens!? Put it in a baggie with a bunch of dry rice for a couple days and see if it improves!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
