Question: Canon EF-S 18-200mm F3!.5-5!.6 IS!?
http://www!.dpreview!.com/previews/canon_1!.!.!.

I've been waiting for Canon to come out with an 18-200mm lens for a long time!. In fact, I was even a little jealous that Nikon had one but Canon did not!. Only problem is, I plan on upgrading to a full frame someday!. I chose NOT to buy the EF-S 10-22mm F3!.5-4!.5 USM Wide Angle Lens for this reason!.

What do you think!.!.!. should I go ahead and buy it and sell it with my camera later, or just skip it!? Do you think Canon will ever come out with an EF 18-200mm!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Buy it now and use it now!. Sell it with your camera when you upgrade to full frame, it'll retain decent value (especially considering the $800 they're asking for it)!.

And no, there will likely not be an EF version!. The optical mechanics alone would make it near impossible to produce cheaply!. 18mm on full frame is ultra wide, not just wide!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can only image the jealousy you feel knowing that the Nikon full frame cameras can use the Nikon DX lenses, but Canon full frame cameras cannot use EF-S's

What you do right now has more to do with the subjects you shoot and if the cameras you have can supply the images you need for your clients!.

My guess it that it may be a while before a EF lens with those focal lengths will be designed!. There are such really good EF lenses that cover those focal lengths and since most pros have a least two bodies, the comparable 24-70mm f/2!.8L USM and EF 70-300mm f/4!.5-5!.6 DO IS USM lenses will do the job!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
