Question: Quick Question About PhotoShop CS!?
Why is it that when I scan a drawing and open it up, it says there's already a gray color code locked on it or something!?
It does not allow me to use color or filters or anything!
What do I do!!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go to Image>Mode and select RGB (I think that should be available in CS, I use CS2 and CS3)!. If you are scanning a pencil or black ink drawing, your scanner probably defaults to grayscale!. You have to reset that in Photoshop when you open the image!. If it's a color scan (the drawing you are scanning already has color in it, not just the pencil grays or black ink) then it should be in RGB mode when you open it in Photoshop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, your scanner automatically scanned it as a gray scale image!. I would re-set the scanner to make sure that it scans everything in RGB!.

You can change from Grayscale to RGB!. Simply go to MODE and select RGB!.

If you want to colour this image, I would place another blank layer on top of the original and just work on that!. When you're happy with things, you can add more layers and continue working on those!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
