This is my competition ( I own a vintage Clothing business) Amd Ilove the concept of her NEW photos!.!.!.but I cant figure out what she used if it is photoshop or different lighting!.

Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: The only thing that I notice is the placement of light in relation to the subject!. You can tell by the shadow and highlight on the model!. The girl in the pink doesn't have any highlight on her arm as did the girl in green!. The highlights shows you from what direction the light is coming from!. In both photos, there are 2 light source!. 1 as a main light and the other as a fill light!. The girl in pink!. Main light was place to her left!. You can see the reflection in the glasses in the bigger picture!. The second picture, you can also see the fill light in her glasses as in this shot she is turned more towards the direction of the fill light!. You can tell the fill light is a round source as opposed to the main light which rectangular!. The placement of these lights in that position gives a more even lighting on the subject!. The girl in green!. The main light is moved more to her left!. This throws the shadow across the front of her showing more texture of the fabric!. Note the highlight on her left arm!. The fill light was place a little behind her!. This light is not filtered!. Meaning there's no diffusion!. The light isn't covered in a softbox to soften the light!. It's a direct light source!. This light should have a reflector on it to direct the light better!. You can tell this by the shadow going across her neck in the second photo!. The shadow edge is harsher and more distinct!. It's not photoshopped!. It's light placement and source of light!. Light in a softbox is more diffused!. Like light behind the cloud!. Light shining direct is harsher and gives a more sharp shadow!. Like the direct sun!. Distant plays a role in it too but the main light isn't any farther than 5 ft away!.
