Question: What do you think about my graphic art (Pic inside)!?
I used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS3!. I'm suppose to do this project where I need to illustrate a murder scene in a stormy and windy day!. I'm not to reveal the victims or the suspects identity and the location is a small town called main street!.

Some other people in my class had the victim hanging and the suspect looking outside a window, a glimpse of him/her!. This is to show that the project illustration varies!. My question would be what can I do to make mine better before the actual critique (pic below)!?

Whether your a graphic designer or not please comment and if I'm doing a great job!. I'm still an amateur though, any help/comments appreciated!.

No, it is clear you are not a professional, but you are certainly good enough so that I want to treat you as if you are!. Excuse me, while I sharpen my knives!.

If you have time and pencil and paper, do a perspective study!. I'd love it if you cut the bottom off -- where everything is black takes away from the overall composition!. it doesn't add to it at all!.

But as I was saying about a perspective study: it looks as though this picture is supposed to be sort of a diagonal shot from above!. Meanwhile we are looking straight down at the murder victim and straight at the murderer!. And since you are restricting your multiple viewpoints to these scenes rather than the objects, the way cubism would!.!.

Okay, you've probably never studied Cubism!. Trust me, the joke about Picasso is he was drawing his screaming women and flowers and musicians from multiple angles!. Two or three of his famous paintings have multiple noses!. On one figure, deliberately like that, it's amazing!. In a picture like this -- it reads like carelessness!. Sorry!.

When I say get out the pencil and paper, here is what you do: the human figure is usually about 7 1/2 heads high!. Can be anywhere from five to eight!. Try to draw, from above, seven boxes, one on top of the other, looking at seven boxes along the floor!. Then when you've done that, draw the head in the first box, the body in the next three, and the legs in the last three!. This is just a sketch so use your eraser liberally and go check out websites like:

for tips, and when it looks nice, copy that onto Illustrator and photoshop!. Or trace it!.

This is not professional work but it is IRRITATINGLY close!.
