Question: What are the names of the series of portraits!?

What are the series of pictures I think theres about 6 in each series pained by a British artist (first name may have been William)

One features an unhappy, loveless marriage and the other is a young girls journey into the world of prostitution!.

There was a channel 4 documentry on a few months ago about this artist!.
