Perki88 is correct in comparing it to slide film!. These books may be of help: "The Digital Photographer's Guide to Exposure" by Peter Cope "Understanding Exposure: How to Shoot Great Photographs With A Film or Digital Camera" by Bryan Peterson "Hands-On Digital Photography" by George Schaub "How Digital Photography Works, Second Edition" by Ron White I am also a firm believer in reading photography magazines!.
