I wouldn't use sharpies or regular black pens!. Yes, they are cheaper, but I've compared my drawing pens with needle point sharpies, and sharpies bleed at some points!.

There are special black ink pens made for this kind of drawing! I use a Sakura pigma micron pen!. At Hobby Lobby they use these in packs of 6, with different point sizes!. I like to use the two smallest ones; the thicker ones can be used for chibi drawings!. For examples you can just go to my deviantART site, www!.xstrawberrylove!.deviantart!.comWww@QuestionHome@Com

For experienced artists, the choice of MOST tools is a personal preference!. For inking, I have used everything from different nibbed dip pens, fountain pens, bamboo pens and, even a real goose quill!. I have tried Rapidographs and many other mechanical drawing pens, but, I have finally settled on plain, ordinary Sharpie markers as my ink pen of choice!.

The ink is dark, permanent, dries quickly and the pen is cheap!. It has the added advantage of being easily replaceable at, virtually every grocery, conveniece and liquor store and bait shop in the nation!. If my pens run dry, I don't have to drive to a specialty art supply or stationery store to find another pen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can use pretty much any quality ink pen with good ink flow!. Lately I've been using an old fashioned dip pen, which takes some practice but produces a really great line!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like to use felt tip pens from sharpie!. You can press harder to vary the width, and the lines come out looking nice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
