Absolutely, if you have the right materials - trial and error isn't a good way to learn (it works, but incredibly slowly compared to having something which will teach you the proper techniques, whether that be an actual teacher, or books, etc)!. Drawing is a learnable skill, whether you begin with an advantage talent-wise or not!.

I don't know what kind of drawings you like to do, but I would recommend this website most highly for beginners: http://www!.drawspace!.com
Try working your way through the lessons there and I'd be very surprised if you didn't see a lot of improvement!.

There are many other resources online, so try Googling drawing tutorials if you want more, or even better, buy some books about drawing in your favourite style or subject!. :)

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nelly, nothing is rubbish especially not you!. Drawing is expressing self and can be learned!. It takes dedication and many hours of practice until you will be satisfied with your art ability!. If you study the work of artists, even fine artists, they all have some quirk in their style that almost looks amateurish!. Start with the basic elements; ball, triangle and square!.These shapes are what most subjects are made up of and can relate to all forms of subject matter!. DRAW the forms until you like how they look, then add shade to one side, so it looks somewhat more 3 dimensional and then add shadow under the object!. Now you have an almost solid looking subject!.
The first shading shows where the light is coming from and gives form to your drawing!. Keep doing this exercise until you can experiment in changing the light source and the perspective (depth of field of object) by enlarging shadow or highlights!.

There is a book called "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain", by Betty Edwards, which helped me immensely!. Techniques and exercises are helpful and you still keep your own style!. Drawing is such fun!. It can be a great way to meet new friends and to keep yourself occupied on journeys and, of course, to express yourself!. Yes, you can learn and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!. Definetely!. Obviously some people are just naturally gifted when it comes to drawing!. But it is possible to become just as good by learning about and trying different techniques!. also by finding your style of drawing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

of course, but I don't think you can really "learn" only improve your own technique!. trust me, not everyone can draw well--that's whats so awesome about art!. those little imperfections and abstract designs are what makes styles!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes you can, that's the beauty of art!. to draw, it doesn't have to be perfect!. just let loose on paper and create your own style!. nothing is "rubbish," just simply misunderstood!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can't draw either but people seem to like my abstracts!?!? so maybe you need to mess for a while to see your abilities!?!? I truly believe you are a born artist!?!?

Yes!. The main thing is to have the desire!. Then just draw, and then draw, and then draw some more!. Get the idea!? It really is just a matter of practice!.
