Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: graffiti is definitely an art form!. however most graffiti is also vandalism!. is there some rule that art cant be vandalism!? i dont think so!. art is defined in so many ways, and a person will easily be able to fit graffiti into one of these definitions!. however the people who say that only some graffiti should be considered art are wrong!. it is easier to see that very good graffiti is art however even the worst writers have some sense of what they are doing!. i am only talking about real graffiti, the kind done by writers, not the phrases written in the bathroom stalls of a gas station by a sharpie!. i am talking about the art done by the people who go out and bomb!. even if a person is terrible at writing, it doesnt make what they tag not art!. everyone starts off as a toy!. it would be nice for everyone if these toys didnt write all over the city until they got a little better but it doesnt make it not art!. when a person begins to paint or draw, they do not start as a great artist!. it takes time form them to formulate their thoughts and ideas and learn to put them on paper, canvas, walls, stone, or whatever medium the artist decides to use!. an artist is a person who does art, not a person who is good at art, and there is no doubt in my mind that graffiti is an art form!. i understand that people do not want it in their neighborhoods, but this is not relevant!. murals are considered art, they are still considered art if a person doesnt want them in their neighborhood!. graffiti, no matter how unwanted, is still art!. it doesnt matter what the medium is, wall, train, window, mailbox, what matters is what it is!. it is a person expressing them self!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Graffiti is DEFINANTLY an art form!. In my personal opinion it is the most diverse and unique art there is!. it can go from someones name to sharing a secret on a brick wall!. Graffiti is beautiful and can spread throughout the colour spectrum and can bring many interpretations!. Not all of it is words but some are pictures!. Just very large painted pictures on a city wall or train!. However, graffiti on prohibited property is vandilism and can be an eyesore on a wall in a beautiful park!.Www@QuestionHome@Com art is the expression of ones self!. this means graffiti can very well be art but it depends on the reasoning behind the person whos doing it!. its like how some pop "artist" only sing about sex and business is only to be reckless and get a bunch of money!. Maybe people who are into hiphop try to say, no it's not vandalism! it's art, but lo and behold, they're painting the crap out of someone else's property!. ahem!. vandalism by definition!. If someone came a painted a picasso on the hood of your new car, you'd be like, yeah ok!. great!. get that **** off my car though, wtf!? Vandals really have no understanding that houses and walls and buildings have value to certain people, and who the f wants to read someone's name everywhere because it's colorful!. it's really a selfish competitive scene where people try to out 'talent' each other on someone else's property!. Please don't be fooled graffiti artists!. Your **** is not art!. it's vandalism!. I don't want an f'ng art exhibition in my front yard just because it's art!. If some naked frenchman walked into my living room drinking tea and video taped it, saying, what!?!?!?! it's art!!! You stupid!.!.!. I'd still kick his ***!. You can't force people to look at art, and you also have no right to vandalize other people's property so you can draw your pictures!. Do it legally and on freewalls, and in portfolios and it's fantastic!. But also, think outside of the box for once!. Graffiti doesnt have to be just letters with a little picture on the side!. that's so cliche!. get over it!. Draw a picture if you have to destroy something!. jerks!. Www@QuestionHome@Com graffiti is a very colorful artform, the fonts used have their own discipline also, i collect the stuff in the form of photographs and it never ceases to amaze me how truly imaginative and beautiful it can be!. beats the crap out of drab grey concrete!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Yes, as long as it's not just profanity covering a wall!.
