Hi Jenn,

I love that you LOVE photography!. This is an art form that just keeps giving! :))

I think what you are asking for is a photo critique!. So my answer is going to be honest so that you can improve on your photography skills!.

You should remember that taking a photo is like writing a story!. There must be a main subject of your photo!. What is the main subject in this picture!?!? Is it suppose to be the sun!? The ocean!? I was not really able to tell!.

also, your picture had flair coming in to the lens from the sun which completely washed out the sky!. You don't want to point your lens into the sun or even close to it!.

Otherwise the picture has potential!. You should go out and try to take it again!. Use the light meter inside the viewfinder and make sure your exposure is correct!. If you have a hood for your lens, when shoot in high sun, you should put it on to minimize lens flair!.

I just want you to keep up your enthusiasm for shooting!. The more you shoot, the more you will love it, the more you will shoot!. It is a domino effect!.\

Thanks for reading!. :))

I like it ! I love landscape pictures without people in them!.
Your picture is timeless, it could be year 2008 or year 1508 or year 0008 or some year BC, its timeless!. It even could be used as a picture that represents some uninhabited other planet which is similar to our own planet earth!.

From another perspective though, it could be "better" if it had some life or activity in it, like a bird flying by, or a sailboat floating about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's quite a nice picture! As the previous person mentioned, however, try to keep the horizon straight, and while the leaves on corner did provide some interest to an otherwise bland picture, it would be even better if you had something in the foreground, such as a little boy making a sand castle on the beach!. If you can, a boat in the middle will also be great!. The sky in the picture is boring despite the clouds, so shoot at sunrise or sunset, the clouds would be far more interesting- or point the camera lower, to avoid the boring sky and focus on something more interesting!. hope this helped =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like it, but I bet it doesn't capture what you saw when you were taking it!. With such strong sunlight, a lot of color, and the whole center of the photo, got washed out!. If you are using a dSLR camera that can take filters, try a polarized filter!. It won't fix the problem of the sun being too bright, but you will get richer colors to make the picture even more interesting!.

Hey, it is a really fun picture!. Don't get me wrong!. I just can tell that you are interested in doing the best you can!.

Good luck, and have fun!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's very nice, the haze is a little distracting though!.
Unless you spend a load of money on a camera, obviously it's not going to be professional looking!. Most pictures are edited these days, that's why when you look at a photo and think "WOW AMAZING", photoshop probably helped a load!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Safety tip:
Never ever look directly into the sun especially when looking through the lens of a camera!.
Not too bad but a polarizing filter would help here!.

not to bad however if you had a slr you could change the shutter and it will look a lot better!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's quite a nice photo! It would be better if the horizon was straight!.!.!.!.but its a cool photo all the sameWww@QuestionHome@Com
