Well if you are just installing all the programs and not knowing anything about how they work, your going to need lots of patience and LOTS of practice to get a handle on all of the ones you listed!.

First thing is what are you trying to accomplish!? You doing a specific project, or just trying to learn them!. Your listing photoshop a image manipulation program, then you list vegas 8, thats video editing etc!.!. along with Adobe After Effects, thats eye candy graphics and motion etc!. pretty much for the video!. All of them take hours upon hours of trial and error and practice like i mentioned!.

Start small, learn the basics of the programs, how layers work, what all the tools are available and what they can do!. Google will be your best friend for finding tutorials on any of it!.
