Question: How do you make a JPEG picture smaller!?
I am trying to post some pictures onto craigslist and it is saying that my pictures are too large!. They are currently JPEG files!. Is there a smaller file size that I can make them!? If so, how!? Please don't tell me to crop the pictures, I don't want to lose what I have in them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

check editing programs you have for photos or cameras and printing, there may be resize option, also reminder to make copy of original to resize,
open image , select image size, and resize smaller for craigslist possibly around 2x4 inches at 72 resolution, 300x pixels, check other images online being used for ideas,

Nancy's answer if dead on for photoshop!. Another thing to think of if you are using photoshop is you can use the save to web option and that will give you smaller files at the lower resolution that works well on monitors Www@QuestionHome@Com

JPEG is fine!. That's what you want, and what works best for the internet, including CL!.

Any program that will allow you to convert the file to 72 dpi and 300x !?!?!? will do it!.

If you have any software that has the "Save for Web" option under File, use that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you have PhotoShop, open the image and select image - image size - change the size there and be sure that the resample image box is NOT checked before selecting apply/ok!.
