your question is worded kinda funny!.!.!.!.!. but dotted quarter notes get half the value as they normally do no matter what time signature you are in!. So say a note usually lasts four beats, if it is dotted then it only lasts two!.

A dotted quarter note represents one and a half beats, not three, because it is cut in half, that's what the dot means!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
