I am a fine artist, I paint with oils, and I'm opening a website soon where I'd like to sell prints of my paintings, and I also plan to sell some in person, but I have no idea how to go about getting prints made, where to get them made, whether online or at a printing company, and how much on average it will cost!. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you call the businesses in your city's yellow pages under "printing" or "printing services," I am sure you will find many that can do giclee (pronounced zhee-klay) prints for you!. Giclee literally means "sprayed liquid," and is the process that most of our home printers use!. Most art prints of original artworks are now giclees!. On the web, just search the term "giclee prints" for a selection of business you could hire!. However, working long distance can be difficult if you want the print colors to match the original!. I would suggest you look into buying a printer and produce the prints yourself!. Much cheaper in the long run!. Epson makes some very nice photo printers and the corresponding archival matte papers!. There are some great new printers out there, but you can pick up a used Epson 2200 for less than $300, and it produces incredible prints!. Anything bigger I had to take a digital picture of!. From there you can digitally change or improve your images!.!.!.!. then print them any size or dimension you want!.!.!.!. You can print them at any print shop!. Kinko's has awesome canvas paper they print on so it actually looks like a real painting!. Size and material printed on will change the cost!. Take pictures (they will come out amazingly good), and then the possibilities for prints are endless!. You can take them to virtually any developing studio and see prices options for anything!.
