Question: How can i get exposure and grow as an artist!?
so im 16, i love art and i dont want to sound cocky, but im really good lol
right now im doing a mural for a non profit organization and ive made plans to show some of my work in a gallery in either october or may!.
but i was wondering what else i could do to get my work noticed!.
i still plan to go to college and study art, but im impatient and i figure that if i work hard now, it will pay off!.
im also wondering what i can do to grow as an artist!. right now im just drawing constently, studying others' work, and experimenting in different things!.

Art is one of the best ways to let your ideas and experiences come out of your mind and let the world experience something that you see; exactly what is so great about subjective art!. And having your ideas in a mural is exactly what you should do to get your work recognized!.!.!.so you're on the right track!.
I got started with drawing since I was in elementary school, and the more I experimented with different mediums like oil pastels, colored pencils and pens the more I developed my expressions by discovering new ways to apply them with painting, 3D sculpture and minor wood working!. Yet I also figure if you can widen the ways you apply what you want to create, the deeper the world of art can open up to you, and you should be able to discover different ways to put imagination to paper/canvas etc!.
The farther I went with expanding the media/mediums I was using, I found that I have a strong interest in relating art to stories I create!. If I had an idea for something like a TV series that hasn't been created yet, I sort of wrote an outline for it and then attached my artwork to the story!. This allowed me to develop characters, settings and a specific tone that was unique to what I had developed!.
I understand you though!. Getting your work noticed is important because first you have to take that step to figuring out what else you can do to experiment with different concepts but also get those concepts noticed without ignoring a favorite style of your own!. What I'd recommend, which as an artist you've probably already done, is to take as many art courses in the area of art you're pursuing as possible!. Take AP and Honors classes that offer projects and assignments that can spark interest in some new mediums!. It depends on what is offered, but there's a program called the national art honors society that can help people who have a passion for art get recognized easier by the amount of work they create!. It'll open up college administrators' attention who will pay close attention to your record as an artist, not to mention consider awarding you a scholarship!.
Other than that, keep working at it!. If you work hard now, yes believe me it will pay off because you will get more attention with the more you experiment, and will be able to get your work out there if you accomplish enough (which, considering you're doing a MURAL, something every art student dreams of doing), than you'll get considered for a scholarship!. Deviantart!.com lets you put your art out in the open, and would allow you to publish your art for people on the internet to see, which might catch the eye of others willing to sponsor your work!. Keep at it and what ever comes to mind, draw it, paint it, just work with it because it'll open up great things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
As mentioned above, you can enter contests online or in your local paper/town!.
To get your work seen, you can put pics online at flickr where many agencies or libraries go to search for new talent!.
