Question: Who here thinks that pure blue looks like the exact opposite color of pure red!?
To me there is no doubt that pure blue and pure red look like exact opposite colors, most people disagree with me, which I think is weird because to me they are as opposite looking as black and white!.

BTW: I am slightly color deficientWww@QuestionHome@Com

i think they contrast alot but the opposit of red is green and the opposite of blue is orange!. that is to say on a color wheel with primary and secondary colors!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just because Pepsico arbitrarily picked blue and red for their logo colors doesn't mean they are opposites!. It just means that they like that particular color combination!. Coca Cola chose red and white!. Are these two colors opposite!? Wouldn't Coke be "more" correct because theirs is the bigger brand!?

I have seen the ying and yang symbol in all KINDS of contrasting color combinations!. The point is, that the colors would HAVE to contrast for the symbol's details to be seen!. That is why the TRADITIONAL colors uses are black and white, the most natural opposites possible!.

By the way, what color is a star when it is NOT moving, relative to you!. The only reasone the terms "red shift" and "blue shift" exist, is because they are on opposite ends of the VISIBLE spectrum!. Just beyond those two colors are INFRAred and ultra VIOLET!. By your logic, wouldn't the opposite of red be violet!?

Most usages of the term "opposite" relate to CONTRAST!. So, by these standards, the color yellow should be the "opposite" of any darker color, from orange, to red, to purple, to blue, to green!.

What is happening is that you are being, simply arbitrary, yourslef and expressing an opinion, based on your feelings and not on any facts!. You "arbitrarily" choose "proofs" that fit your argument, instead of finding any emperical evedince to support them!.

So, there IS a reason Pepsi picked their colors!. (esthetics) And there is another, entirely unconnected reason for red shift and blue shift!. (physics) And another, separate reason for red blood and purpleish blood in different parts of the bloodstream!. (oxygen) and, another, very real reason for the traditional colors of yin/yang!. (contrast)

Just like there is a reason for leaves being green and stems and trunks being brown, and for sky to be blue and ashphalt being black, and lions to be tan and elephants to be grey, and for Ferarri's to be red and Chevys to be blue and, for many years, why NO ONE made any cars painted green!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's my least favorite color combo because they look so opposite, they contrast too much for me and hurt my eyes, more than black and white actually!.!.!. but blue's opposite is actually orange and red's is actually green!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

acually my grandmother use to say that the yin and yang sign was suppose to be red and blue!.!.!.^^

and I also remeber when I was younger most girl will pick red or pink while guys picked blue!.!.!.so yea that too!.!. XDWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well I think blue is the opposite of red!. Isn't it trivial knowledge!.

This is the first time I heard that they weren't!.
