YES!

It is too bad that people get lazy in their speech and do that!.

I recently ran into someone complaining about their new "Canon" !.!.!. when I took a look at the camera, it was a Casio P&S!. When I pointed that out to them, they just said, "Well it's MY Canon" Yes Photoshop is becoming a verb as are other photo products!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not only is Photoshop becoming a verb and generic term it's becoming to be used for any photo editing program whether it's actually Photoshop or not!. Most people don't realise just how much a professional tool the real Photoshop is or that it has a steep learning curve to use it properly!. There are plenty of other freely available and much easier to use photo editing programs on line which appear to get ignored simply because they don't have the designer label that Adobe has created!. There is also the unfortunate perception that photo editing programs can some how work miracles on bad photos and it helps perpetuate the idea that anyone can take good photos so long as they can "Photoshop" them afterwards!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the old days people would take pictures and spend time in their Darkrooms developing and printing their pictures!. Now days you take pictures, download them and do post-production on your computer!.
Photoshop has become the Digital Darkroom!. I don't know if it is the best photo-editor software but most photographers are familiar with it!. So, at least in the photography realm, if you are a photographer you 'are' required to know about photoshop techniques for post-production!.
Yes, I believe photoshop has become a verb in the same sense Google has become ( ie, Can you photoshop this for me or can you Google it for me!?)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sadly, yes!. It happens on the board time after time!. people ask 'what is the best Photoshop'!. Doh the latest version!. But, I guess it's inevitable!. Did you know that there was actually a Mr!. Biro - Hungarian, I believe - who invented the writing implement which is now always called by his name!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, yes, it probably already has, but I don't see where the 'jeopardy' bit comes in!. The Pepsi board of Directors would probably sell their grandmothers to get Pepsi 'in jeopardy' of becoming the universal generic word for cola drinks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
