If you want a completely black silhouette of yourself I would suggest using back-lighting!. Where the light source would be behind you but in front of the camera!. This is a common technique with a 35mm, it should work with digital cameras as well!.

The back-lighting technique looks to be the method used in the example from fliker that you linked us to!. I believe they lowered all the lights in the room and used the light from the window to shadow the woman out!.

You can set the camera on your tripod and either set the timer on the camera to capture the silhouette or have a friend take it for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would set the camera and lights up so your sihouette falls on your background, or wall, whatever you are using!. Then I would simply use the self-timer function of the camera and strike a pose!. Just manually focus on the wall or background beforehand!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

use a spot light, or a flash with a tele adaptor on it

meter the light from infront of a white wall using a grey card or light meter, stand between the white wall and the light, have the shutter fired by remote or timer
