Jess, I don't know how old you are now, but with tattoos, it's always a wise decision to wait until you're older!. Much older!. I'm extensively tattooed, and I think people should wait until they're at least in their late twenties to start getting tattooed!. The reason I say this is because, the things you like when you're younger, will almost definitely not be the same when you're older, and wiser!. I speak from experience!.

I started getting tattooed when I was 21!. I made a few poor decisions with both, artwork and artist!. Now, in my thirties, I get well planned and executed artwork, done by only the most talented artists!. Never compromise with something that's forever!.

O!.K!. enough rambling, lets get to the good stuff!. THE PAIN!!!!. Tattoos hurt, but just how much depends on a few different factors!.
1!. Your threshold for pain!. Girls usually handle it better than guys!.
2!. Your state of mind at the time!. Some days are better than others!.
3!. Placement!. Some places hurt worse than others!. Ribs and stomach hurt like mad!. Shins and kneecap were no walk in the park either!.
4!. Your Tattooist!. A good Tattooist knows how to tune his/her machines to run properly at lower voltage!. In my experience, the lower the voltage, the less it hurts!. Inexperienced Tattooist's don't have a good enough understanding of their machines, and usually run them way too fast!. This will usually tear you up, and produce a bad tattoo!.

A little advice!. Do some research, and find the best Tattooist you can!. Make sure he/she is an artist above all else!. Even if they charge more (they probably will), it will be worth it in the long run!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
