lets see, lets see, where to start!.!.!.well, first off to be able to get off with starting a proper comic strip, you have to have confidence!. you are acting majorly insecure, and should be more proud of your work, people who say not to brag are just jealous!.
your comic style is a good one and the world needs more of it right now, with the whole japan pop invasion(as enjoyable as it is)

*ahem*, to begin your quest into the art world, the technology you are looking for are as follows:
a computer (preferably a mac)
a scanner (you can get it with a printer dealy)
and a computer drawing tablet (I personally reccommend the wacom bamboo tablet, this can be purchased at an apple store, or london drugs, etc!.)

second on your quest, you will need to build up a bit of a following, family, friends, etc who enjoy your comic!.

then, you have a HUGE decision to make:
am I going to publish in my local newspaper, in a book format, or on the internet!.

the newspaper is a good start, because local newspapers tend to look for local talent, and it gets your comic out there!.

if you set up a website, then its easier to work with, and you can get money through ads and whatnot!.

or, if you want to go the whole nine yards, send in your work (neatly mind you), to a publishing company!.
dont be discouraged if they don't publish, they are busy people and have lots of other stuff to work with!.

all else I can say is to not give up, just keep making comics and keep HAVING FUN!

You have an interesting and unique style!. It would serve a humor cartoonist well!.

Most cartoons are not written in a single piece!. Familiarize yourself with your photoshop on your computer!. Especially the layering options!. If nothing else, you should use photoshop to add text after the art is finished!. Gives it a very neat appearance!. also buy yourself some nice artist pens, they scan better then pencil!.

The easiest way to start a career in comics is to self-publish online!. I shouldn't say "easiest", maybe simplest!. It's a lot of work and the pay is kinda lousy, but it gets your work in front of many people!. I wouldn't worry about art!. One of the most popular online comics running now is one called The Order of the Stick!. It consist of very simple stick figures in a fantasy setting!. It's funny and the storyline is quite compelling!. If you can make people laugh and keep them interested in your characters, art won't matter so much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your comic looks great, keep on making them! :)

I guess the basics you'd want to look into would be:

- A good scanner
- Photoshop
- A decent printer
- Ink
- Paper
