Question: I'm getting all kinds of artefacts with long exposures, is this normal!?
'Artefacts' meaning things like a couple of hot pixels or a small spot of red that wasn't there!.

With 30 second exposures I get about 4 per picture!. That's easy enough to correct, but I took a couple of 5 minute long exposures the other night and they have hundreds, which will require a long time to correct!.

Anyone else get this problem!? Camera's a Nikon D40x by the way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If your camera has long exposure noise reduction, you can reduce the ISO setting and lengthen your exposure time!.

stacking for less noise
