Actually, it would depend on the individual college/institution's requirements!.
I know that in high school AP art(I'm an art teacher), that some places are now accepting images of art works on Cd's!.!.!.look into that!.
Contact the college and get all the info you can before you put in all the effort before you send, it might turn out easier than you think, and your portfolio will make more of an impact!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I recently went to a College interview with my art portfolio!.
My work ranges from a5 to a1!.!.!. so I could not take all of my work!
So there is no minimum, just take a varied selection of your work and be confident! It is very likely you will get in, they not only look at your work but they judge you by your enthusiasm, passion!. So thy may ask you questions be prepared, confident etc!
I'm no sure how old you are or what country you are from, but i'm from England finished my art a-level and am doing my foundation diploma in September! so I really hope you do well,
Work hard!
Much harder then any subject!.
If you have the passion you will succeed!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think the first answer is a good idea!.

But when I was applying to art school, I do not remember any minimum size restrictions at all!. If you're showing them original work (not photos), of course you'd want to mount or matte a tiny piece so that it would not get lost in the shuffle!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
