How do you start an anime and what do you need?

Question: How do you start an anime and what do you need!?

I've started writing a synopsis for an anime I want to start, I also have character designs and descriptive bios!. I'm almost done with the story line but what do I do with it then!? I know the production company that I want to animate it but how would I go about pitching the idea to the company!? If it involves money how much would it cost!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a difficult one as there is no one way to approach this topic!. First of all what you are creating is called an IP or intellectual property, commonly just called a property!. Your document is called a pitch!. The pitch should be no more than 2 pages long and to the point (this is called a one sheet)!.

Pitching does not cost money and anyone who charges you to pitch is a rip off artist!. You could put together a property book which would include your one sheet information plus your designs and send the book to companies you admire but be aware unless your IP is incredibly brilliant upfront you will need to establish a solid resume and career before anyone will really help!.

Agents approach you or you are recommended by someone who is already established, the real ones don't take cold solicitations!.

Another approach would be to team up with an artist and animator and produce a reel or short yourself - much more impressive way to go!.

BTW I am an experienced writer with an agent and I've successfully participated in the pitch process before!.

yes it involves a company, and it costs thousands and millions for a single episode/series, but if u think ur story,characters, etc are extra special, u could always try contacting an anime studio or a producer or smething!! and if ur in japan(leader of anime) then u can try the studio BONES(maker of the best anime) but its still just too hard for just some1 to make an anime! i mean seriously!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
