Question: I need help drawing a scale model of the leaning tower of pisa! anyone!?
i am taking an extracurricular summer program and my final project is to draw a 3d scale drawing of the leaning tower!. i googled it, but i find it fascinating that no one else has done this before, so i can't just trace!. and tracing a photo is hard and not always accurate!. oh and i am a terrible artist!. :D
i already have the generic wikipedia measurements of the height and slant and stuff, but please help me, anything will work!. thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If it helps any, the tower is 185' tall!.

you could use graph paper, making each square represent 5'!. Your drawn tower would then be 37 squares high!.( 5 X 37 = 185) (check my math!)

Figuring out how wide it would be is making my head hurt!. Hopefully, you haven't had as hard a day as I have, and you can figure this part out!. (math always gives me a headache)
It would be some formula based on knowing the tower is 185' tall!.--- measuring in a photograph how tall it is (in the photo), then how wide it is, then converting the height, which would let you convert the width also!. (!. !.ahhh!. !. !. my head ! ! )

anyway, I hope this helps!. Graph paper is wonderful stuff when trying to draw anything to scale!.

good luck and have a great night!

p!.s!. If I were drawing this, I would get the dimensions down right, THEN "lean" it, ya know what I mean!?

Here's a link to the official web site of the Leaning Tower,,(in english) there are alot of photographs that might help you with your drawing!.

Another helpful hint - make a template (out of cardstock or light cardboard) of the curve of the tower and use it to trace the curve line of each level, so they will all be the same!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
