Well, I can't tell you the lens !.!.!. but it was shot with a Canon 20D at 1/250th sec!. at f 4 in Manual mode with no flash!.

the lens was obviously a fairly long zoom, perhaps a 70-300 (but this is strictly a guess)

Whoever shot these knew what they were doing!

EDIT: DCR is right!. The 20 D has since been superceded by the 30D and 40D, just newer models of the same basic camera!. but I'm still no more help about the lens than I was before!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Like Jim said, it was shot with a Canon 20D at 1/250th sec!. at f/4!.0 in manual mode!. (Hover over the picture and click the Photo Info button on the right to see details!.)

The focal length was 83mm for some, as high as 456mm for others!. May be two different lenses with that kind of range, or it could be a reporting error on the picture; I believe the 20D is a 1!.6 focal distance multiplier, so a 300mm lens acts like a 480mm lens, etc!.

Depending on whether the lens was image stabilized or not, the make, the quality of the glass, could be $200, could be $2000!. The 20D is discontinued, but it was around $550!.

That looks like it would use a FAST Lens, with an aperture like 1!.4 or 2!.8 In those gym settings, lots of times there is low lighting so you need a lens that will let in as much light as possible!. Plus, the fact that they probably do not want you using a flash!. So, FAST lens, and probably a shutter speed between 100 - 250!. The fast lenses tend to be very expensive, probably used price of $500 - $600!.

Those pictures were take with a DSLR!.
Probably a Nikon or a Canon!.

Of course anyone who knows anything about photography knows for sure that you cannot get that quality photograph from anything but a Canon or a Nikon!. BSWww@QuestionHome@Com
