I would guess the story comes first!. If you have specific images you want to use or do, then you can write them into the story-line!.

I would do a storyboard after you have a basic idea of the story to design how many pages it is, and how many illustrations you will need!. Nothing worse than feeling the ending was rushed or stretched out due to lack of planning!.

alot of time and patience is needed, creating a graphic novel involves a couple of things

an artist and a writer!. and the editor and publisher but the first two are most important

creating a single page alone takes a several hours to a day (if you are really good) and thats only if its in black and white!. if color is involved then more time is involved

other than practicing drawing you either have to have a writer/co-creator or be a writer yourself
