Question: In photography!.!.!.!?
is the Focal point the same as the focal plane!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Yes!.!.!.!.! However it DOES depend on which side of the lens were talking about!. At the rear of the lens all in-focus light arrives at the same place at the same time!. The rest looks - out of focus!. This is the focal plane or point!.!. Many cameras have what is called a - Focal Plane Shutter!. This is often a rubberized material or titanium foil that is just in front of either the film or chip these days and many have a flip mirror in front of them!. Many higher end cameras also have a mark on the top of the body showing where the focal plane is!. It is usually a circle with a line thru it!.!.

Focal point can also be used to de-note where the light comes to a focus inside the camera but it can also be used to de-note where outside - you, the photographer, focused your lens at!. The focal point of the image was the birds eye, or of the like!.!. Either phrase could be used either way depending on what you were trying to describe!.
