Question: Are my photos any good!?

There's a photograph competition at a show near me and I'm thinking of entering the animals section!. Which of the following pictures (if any) are any good do you think!? PLEASE tell me if they're rubbish!!!!! I won't be offended lol, I'm not a photographer I just take my camera to places for "holiday snaps" but I think some have turned out nice!. Thank you!.

Some of them are really good!.You see,when you took the snaps,you had no idea about their end use or any competition etc and there for,at the spur of the moment,many doubts are likely to arise about their suitability for the show!.I suggest select a few of them and enter the show without expecting any reward!.Be prepared for the future events if you are really serious about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They're good snaps, but I think you'd need to spend more time planning the shots if you want to enter them into a competition!.

Like another answerer said, the background is too 'busy' - you need to make sure the subject of the photo stands out and that the background is neat and tidy, ie no half-people on the edges of the photo etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your pics show animals doing everyday things so there isn't anything that stands out apart from the pic of the horse sleeping!. If you concentrated on the composition/angles as well as the subject in your photos, you may get some interesting results!. I hope you do well in the competition!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

number two has potential because its still got the 'raw nature' as you described but its not got a busy background the only problem is the shot is a bit blurred now im no expert but my dad has a special computer program that allows you to alter lighting and blur you should get it out (sorry i'm not sure of the name) look on the internet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They are good but they don't have really good quality and thers people in the backround so ther proboably gonna take points of for that!. The best one is the dog on but make sure to crop out the person because that is distracting another one u may have a chance with is the horse one where it is smilingWww@QuestionHome@Com

the images of the horses are pretty good!. You have captured the sense of movement and power nicely!. The overall images are a bit messy, too many people faces, too crowded, poorly framed!.- but the horse are great!.

Why don't you try taking some more of just horses, in the field, or stables!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I only like two!. The one with the dog right up to the camera with the road and man in the background, though I wish the dog was sharper in the picture!. The other is of the horse with its mouth wide open as I think it looks like its laughing! (-: The other photos are just ordinary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the dog image it the only one i stopped and looked at for a mintue!. it is the only one with personality and style!. the dog is lookint at the viewer and the background is blurred!. very good!. if you want to make images of horse figure out how to do it with those two elements!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

they are ok but theres too much going on in several of the backgrounds but i really like the one where the dog is running up to the camera!. please answer my question on photography

I thin the foto of the dog with the man in the yellow shirt is the best of them all!.!.!.!. just the right amount of sharp to blurr ratio, very nice!.!.!.!. my second pick would be the sleeping horse nicely framed and pretty sharp!.!.!.ps what is the camera you shot these with and with what lens!?!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think the second one under your 'additional' of the dog running towards the camera, and the fourth one of the horse bearing it's teeth!.

They both have lots of character
