You can get rid of red eye by means a lot less expensive than buying a DSLR!.

The problem has been explained, but it comes from the flash being too close to the lens, so when you shoot someone looking directly at the camera, the reflection in their eye bounces back to your photograph!.

Cure: Don't have your subject staring at the camera, have them turn their head a little so as to cause the reflection to go the other way!. It does not have to be a profile shot, just not head on!.

Look at it this way: Angle of reflection = angle of incidence!. so if you shoot head on the reflection will come back at your face!. If you give it just a little angle, it will bounce away from your camera!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You aren't doing anything wrong, and there is nothing wrong with your camera!. Red eye actually comes from a camera's on camera flash unit!. Because on camera flash units are so small and directly in front of your subjects face, the light enters the eye and basically bounces around lighting up all of the blood veins inside of the eye, thus creating the red eye effect!.

However, don't worry, this problem is pretty easily fixed!.

1) Get a simple photo editing program on your computer, such as photoshop elements!. All of these programs have red eye removal tools!. You can load up the picture, and make the correction in a snap!.

2) If you want to remove it from the picture all together, you need to shoot with a non-point and shoot camera ( a higher end camera) or don't use your point and shoots flash unit!. As a professional, I use a high end camera with an attached flash unit!. In addition, rarely is this flash unit ever pointed directly at someone's face, therefore it doesn't create red-eye!.

on the camara there will be a red eye button that changes the flash to a double or tripple flash!.!.!. the first flash is bright and closes your iris, and the next flash takes the pic!. (the display will look like an eye on your screen when you have it right)

however, these are not great flashes for pics!. i sugest you take your pics and edit the red eye on the computerWww@QuestionHome@Com

Aside from the good advice above!.!.!.!.

The nearness of the flash to the lens causes this!.!.!.when taking flash images try not to go directly into the subject's face!.!.!.be a bit higher or to the side!. also, turn on all the lights in the room so that the pupils go as small as they can to get less red eye!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its pretty common in some pictures
Does it happen in every photo!?
You can edit out the red eye in kodak programs and when you go to print out photos
Maybe try out some different settings on your camera!? Explore it!. =DWww@QuestionHome@Com
