!. take your time looking at the work done by many photographers, who comes the closest to the kind of photo you want for your head shot!. and compare prices!. don't let the photographer make those decisions for you!. also get a scale of costs to you for a series of proof shots of you to select from until you find the right combinations!. a good photographer will work with you!. there aren't that many really top grade photographers, that can help you catch the character and look your after!.!. their work is worth it!. don't go out just for price!. get informed!. if you can print out some photos of stars photos that are closer to what you're after in your headshot!. your photographer will have a better idea of lighting, color , saturation, temp, tone, clear focus not softened!. the photo print paper you want the print on!. and the resolution for the photo print!. doing it on your own, i would use at least a 10 megapixel camera with a glass lense!. pro's can commonly use 30 megapixel of higher cameras!. whether inside with proper lighting, (three or more light sources, a peanut light that brings up the eyes, softlight reflectors) or outside in the sunlight when it is at a good angle in the morning or afternoon around 10 am and 2 pm!.or so to avoid shadowing!. it can be helpful if you are standing with the sun slightly off to one side and the sunlight also striking you from a softer reflected surface in another direction!. add in ground reflection, and you can add great depth to your pic'!. be sure to take care of makeup, hair and wardrobe ahead of your shoot!. a good 10 megapixel digital camera picture can be enlarged opticaly to an 8x10 size quite nicely!.in a photo lab or high quality photo printer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
