Question: Sketchbook!?!?!?
Im looking for 2 new sketchbooks as I've run out of paper in both!. I'm particularly interested in a sketchbook with an ideal tooth that would be good with colored pencil as my previous ones had tooth but not the right kind and the colored pencils wouldn't lay down easy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stonehenge Rising is good!. The smoother side of Canson Me Tientes is good!. Some acid-free matboards have good tooth!. A sketch book with heavier paper is the Robert Bateman recycled sketchbook!. !. !. it will take a little watercolor too! http://www!.artsuppliesonline!.com/bigimg/!.!.!.

I have done colored pencil on Art Spectrum Colourfix paper, Sennelier LaCarte pastel card, Ampersand pastel board, Wallis sanded pastel paper, and a myriad other papers, including Fabriano Tisiano, Fabriano soft-press watercolor paper, and Fabriano Roma (a yummy handmade paper) !. !. !. and canvas gessoed with various mediums, 100% rag mat, and musem board !. !. !. !. oh, too many to list!

The criteria is that the paper be durable for pressure, layering, and erasures, acid-free, and have tooth, or enough grain that it will take a dozen or more layers of lightly applied colored pencil without burnishing badly!.

I personally prefer to work on colored paper more than on white!. Neutral tints in mid-values are my favorite, because colors pop, highlights are incredible , and darks are simpler to achieve because you have a head start!Www@QuestionHome@Com
