Portraits are your strongest suit!. I believe pic #8 the blueish face portrait, is a strong piece that shows you're very talented!. The bird one is my 2nd best!. The other portraits aren't fully flushed out yet!. And, the abstracts are the weakest when viewed up front, although from a distant they have a certain appeal!. But you're most definitely a talented artist, but I would encourage you to pursue portraits instead of the abstracts!. Is it any wonder you've got one in an exhibition already!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am quite the artist myself and I am 18 yrs!. old so I am not that much older than you but I do have to say that you got a heck of a talent!. As for your abstract paintings you have done great with the color schemes and the texture of the painting makes it very intresting!. I have done a few myself and people (especially those who aren't artists and they really don't understand the value of it) aren't crazy about those kind of abstract paintings!. On the other hand, everyone loves to touch it because of the texture, so I encourage you to create more that are more "hands on appealing" than visually appealing!. And what I mean by that is make a lot of texture variations that make it more fun!. As for the artist point of view you did awesome! Your portraits are amazing especially nigella which it looks like you used a colored pencil medium but I am not sure!. Keep up the awesome work!. Your pencil drawing portrait would make a nice sketch but if you added shading, tone, and depth, as well as a background it would be a great masterpiece!. Overall, your art is exceptional!Www@QuestionHome@Com

As has already been stated, you have the natural talent to become a first-rate artist!. You're certainly getting there!.

But I really need to add this:

Are you taking credit for imatating Jackson Pollock!? If might not be a good idea, if you want to be taken seriously as an artist, to knock off such a recognizable style!.

If you want to work in abstract art develop your own unique style and stay away from doing anything that even remotely looks like a knockoff of someone else's unique style!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Omg!! i love them! Your really good! :-) Im an artist too and im 14 !. I've also sold a few of my pieces i've done and been asked to do murals , portriats and other stuff for my town!. I am too an inspiring artist I'm glad that there are other young people interested in arts!. Nigella is my favorite even though I do admire your other abstracts!. Keep up the great work and pursue your dream!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have a lot of potential as I can see this in your portraits!. A few books that would help you along in your studies are :
"Anatomy for the Artist" by Jeno Barcsay and Bridgmans "Complete Guide to Drawing from Life"!.
Under every face lies a bone structure and anatomy that supports it & gives it shape & and definition!.It's important that you learn to think in these terms when drawing or painting figures or faces!. If you're planning to go to art school someday you'll need to present the potential school with a portfolio of your work!.They look for drawings with anatomy to see if you have a deeper understanding about what your doing!.An interesting exercise that I learned as a sophmore was to superimpose my portrait over top of a drawing of a skull!.The idea of this exercise was to teach us that without anatomy faces do not look the way that they're supposed to!.
If you want to do this project yourself, zerox a b/w photo from an anatomy book or other source, make it an 8 x10 size!. Get a piece of tracing paper , place it over the skull photo and draw a self portrait on top of it!. You'll be amazed at what you'll learn!. As far a painting goes, try not to overmix your colors!.
It's easy to turn colors muddy if you do that!. Think in terms of warm and cool when you're looking at the face and trying to decide what to do!. Think carefully about your source of light and where you're going to place it!.A good solid flesh tone to base lots of other colors on is naples yellow mixed with a teensy amount of white!.Highlights are not all white and darks are not all dark!. Keep your brushes clean and continually wipe them down while painting with old rags!.This will help keep your colors crisp and clean!. An artist that you might want to check out is Helen VanWyk!. Her how to paint shows are often shown on PBS tv channels!.These are just a few tips to help you along on your journey as an artist from an artist who's been dong this for 40 plus years!
Good luck with your art career!Www@QuestionHome@Com
