the camera is fine, its a good camera!.!.

learn to use the manual settings on the camera also!.!.!.!.
yes take photos around your neighbourhood, but first, pick a theme and think about it first, like!.!.!.!. movement!.!.!.!.!.!. water!.!.!.!.!.!. light!.!.!.!.!.!.!. people (but make sure its ok, and have someone with you) wild life etc etc!.!.!.

then if you want to take it up as a job later you can get a more expencive camera!.!.!.!.!.!.

look into how to take good portrates, and practice them on family members!.!.!.!.!. if you go to a wedding, watch the photographer, and look at all the pics and think about them after the wedding!.!.!.!. take lots of your own at the wedding too, dont worry about the "official" ones, let the photographer do that!.!.!.!.!. think about the "candid" ones!.!.!.!. like the babies asleep, and the children playing, and small groups of people chatting and NOT posing!.

i could go on for hours!.!.!.!. if you need any help or advice im contactable on here!.

good luck!.!.!. its a fantastic hobby to get into!.!. and remember!.!.!. its not the Camera that takes good pics, its the photographerWww@QuestionHome@Com

Hi i am the same age as you, and i have the same idea too!.
I have been posing for my own pictures, taking pictures of anything and editting them!.

My friends have said that they look very proffesional!. All i have it A Sony Cyber Shot with 7!.2 Mega pixels!. Its just a digital camera, but people say my pictures look proffesional!.

Just keep doing what you are doing!. And maybe ask your mom if she sees any photography classes!.

What i like to take pictures of:
Get a lamp, or when the sun is in a perfect place!. Shine the light on an object to make a distinct shadow!. And it looks really nice

My favourite: MY EYES!. I dress them up, and everything and they look super cool!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I love photography as well but I don't have any kind of fancy camera!.!.!.!. just a digital one!. My pictures usually aren't of anything special!. I love taking everyday things and turning them into 'art' lol!. So yea, just take pictures of whatever you find picture worthy and be sure to work the angles and the lighting to make it unique!.

Here's my deviantART: http://mediate89!.deviantart!.com/!. I only have a few uploaded but you can kinda see where I'm coming from!. I also have a lot more on my myspace (I have a whole nature section) but you won't be able to see them unless you have a myspace yourself!.

Do you want to take up photography as a profession!? I don't know how to help you there because I've never tried doing anything like that!. I imagine you would send your photos to!.!.!. a photography place!? = /Www@QuestionHome@Com

Thats awesome! Umm If i were you I would try to take as good pictures as you can, there are many books and dvds in stores about photogarphy, maybe get some and try to find you image, like you signature, casual, abnormal!? like your kind of photos are!? _____ maybe nature but close up nature!? scenes!? so basicly find whatkind your photots are, I would wait to buy one, maybe if your parents have a friend that in photogrphy ask that person what they think, good luck! <3Www@QuestionHome@Com

Photography is an art!. It is in you!. There is no set rule on what to take a picture of and what to not!. Photography is all about your view towards the world and things!. It is in your eyes!. Make sure you carry your camera with you where ever you go and when ever you see something that you think is interseting!. take a picture of it!. I have a student (I teach photography @ Ritz university) that took a picture of a line of ants in a tree and won a 10,000 dollars contest!. Upgrading a camera is also your call, when you feel like you need more out of your camera, then that is the time to upgrade!. you will definitly know when to!.

Good Luck!

If you are going to be serious about photography I would get a Nikon or Canon Digital SLR!. They are sort of expensive, but you will get amazing pictures!. Donate the Kodak to your parents!. It has a plastic lens as opposed to a glass lens!. They are terrible in my opinion!. also if your high school offers some sort of photography class (ie digital art) take it!. It will be fun and you will learn how to make your prints even better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that the most influential piece of advice that I can give you would be this:

NEVER!.!.!.i repeat!.!.!.NEVER let anybody tell you that you can't do this!.

I am also a personal fan of photography!. I used to STAY at Walgreen's getting film developed, and then I bought a digital camera, and I'm literally on my computer EVERY DAY uploading photos!. Just know that you get better with practice, and look at other people's photography to help give you some in-depth ideas on angles, lighting and objects of focus to photograph!.

Good luck, sweetie!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mhm wait till ur older for Nixons!.
Try and look at life at a different perspective, if your a colorful person, try and look life like that,
try and discover on what you like and what you like better,
black 'n white, or colrful ect,

then when your older, you can get a clueWww@QuestionHome@Com

PRACTICE just work on taking pictures starting now, also read books about it, one that I like is the Idiots guide to photography very helpful, i think, play with ur photos on the computer most cameras come wiht editing programs just practice and play around with picturesWww@QuestionHome@Com

For now, just keep doing what you are doing!. Try to take classes and master photo editing tools like photoshop!. And you can go to an arts college, or major or minor in photography or visual arts in college!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

look into your local 4H - they probably have a photo club

also maybe you can start one in your school!Www@QuestionHome@Com

the trick with photography is setting up a good focal point, once you know how to do that, the camera doesn't matter!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

get a better cameraWww@QuestionHome@Com

no idea but u need patience patience patience to snap that moment!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

good for you! i thought it said por nography at first and i was like, "A 13 YEAR OLD!?!?" lol :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

95% of the people that answered this question have no idea what they are talking about!. If you want any real advice, go around town and practice all you can!. With time, you might consider looking into a more advanced camera, such as an SLR!. It does not matter if it's Nikon or Canon, Pentax or Sony!. Just make sure it has all the features you need!. Enter some photo contests and read about the art of photography!. Unlike some people who answered, photography is not about a focal point or waiting for the right moment!. These are one of the last steps!. You should first understand how a camera works, how all the factors play into each other-reciprocity-and how to use all of what you know before pressing the shutter release!. Other than that, consider taking some photography courses in high school, and when it comes to it, college!. This will help you further advance you skills and knowlege!.

That's what really matters, your knowlege, skills, and ability to see the world in a different way!. Not what kind of camera you have!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

OK one DON"T get a Nikon Cannon has been rated the best for years now!. One ask your mom or dad for a cannon rebel series if they will fork out the money or a cannon powershot, which run a lil cheaper!. Two get a account on flickr and start shoting and uploading pics onto there!. People will give you all kinds of advice and tips on how to make your photography better!. 3 get a Mac, now im not dissing windows but we all know if you want great photo editing software other then adobe photoshop you go with apeture!. That way you can do more with the pics you take!. Learn how to edit lighting, shadows take out objects you want and so on and so on!. Now this is where you prob should just wait!. I would say start by getting better lenses butttt with the way tech is they will most likely be out dated by the time you reach 18, but they would def help your work!. Take up photography throughout highschool and go ahead in major in ART/Photography in college!. By the time you get out, You should be a PRO with about 9 years experience under your built if you start now!. Hope that helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I also share the passion of photography and i am 18!.

Honestly, Nikons are not all that great I own one and i also own a canon rebel XTI!.

You're better off getting a macro lens and fish eye, especially for the photography you have listed!. And don't just buy a digital camera, my mind is sooo blank right now!.!.!. but buy the ones you can change lenses!. wow!.!.!. i should know this because ive been doing photography for how long!?

also!.!.!. If you would like to do this when you're older there are TONS of jobs you dont even think of that involve photography!. I'm planning on going to buisness school and opening up my own wedding photography!. ( People pay massive ammounts of money, just for a few pictures crazy hey )

Don't quit photography! I made that mistake a few years ago and im slowing re gaining into it!.

best of luck!
