Avoid trying to faithfully reproduce the image because that would be similar to forgery plus it wouldn't be much fun!.!.

If you plan to make a 38" x 48" painting use square bristled 1" to 2" brushes!. You might even give sponge brushes a try!.

Paint the entire surface with Naples Yellow!. Brush in some Titanium White here and there!. Add a tiny amount of Burnt Umber to the previous two colors for the gray area!. Allow this to dry completely!.

Use a combination of Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna and perhaps a black for the tree trunk and branches!. (Mixing a small amount of Pthalo Blue with the Burnt Sienna might give you a richer black than what you can buy in a tube!.)

The lighter leaves can be made with Yellow Ochre, Naples Yellow, Lemon Yellow, and perhaps some Cadmium Yellow!. For the darker leaves experiment with both Raw & Burnt Umber, Raw & Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson and Cadmium Red Medium!. Perk up things with 2 or 3 patches of yellow green (Spring Green)!. Keep in mind that you are trying to show the rounded form of the overall foliage by contrasting the lighter top with the darker bottom!.

When the leafy area is completely dry use the side of a brush to paint in a few dark branches - keep these irregular!. When they have dried apply thin, incomplete lines of white highlights across the tops of a few of the branches!.

Keep it loose and have fun!. Don't try to make sizes and shapes too regular or perfect!. You are almost sure to create a different painting than the original!. You might even enjoy yours more!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Why would you even want to spend the time, energy and materials to paint someone else's work!? My advice!. !. !. don't!. Do something original!. This is a production piece, hundreds cranked out to sell as decoration!. If you want to copy, then make it a master copy, and do a study off an old master or a modern artist you admire!. THAT you could be proud of!. !.!. !.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just keep in mind you are copying the work of another artist and don't try to sell it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
