Question: Pentax ist-D problem HELP!!!!?
#1!. I have a Pentax ist-D digital camera that I'm having a problem with!. The pictures are ALWAYS underexposed = too dark!.!.!.especially since I got my new auto-focus lenses!. I can "auto fix" them with adobe photoshop, but I need them to be right on in the first place!.

#2!. also, when I'm shooting multiple pictures 4 frames in 5-seconds, I'm getting bracketing on the exposures when I don't really want the bracketing on!. (1st over exposed or lighter, 2nd medium or proper exposure then the 3rd under exposed or darker!.)

I'm shooting a friend's wedding Friday (tomorrow) night, so will appreciate your assistance/suggestions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You obviously have "bracketing" set, unless it comes as a default!. Look for that in your manual and turn off bracketing!.

There may be a problem with communication between your lens and camera about distance information!. This wouldn't alter exposure for a non-flash picture, but it could easily mess it up for flash pictures!. Before suspecting a defect like this, just make sure that you have not inadvertantly set your exposure compensation to a negative value!.

In fact, I'll bet these are related problems!. If you have bracketing set up, you might have the series set to start with the underexposure first and move from (-) to (+) values!. If you just press and release the shutter button, you're only getting the first shot in the series and that would be underexposed!. I know that this is the reverse of what you said as far as light-to-dark, but it's just something that crossed my mind to check into!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here is your manual!.

Look at page 82 about auto bracketing!.
