I agree, children love cartoons, they would love to recreate there favorite characters!. also another way to encourage them is by getting post its and let them understand how cartoons are really made by letting them create a semi-cartoon with a post its flip book!. I remeber I used to love doing that growing up :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

you can make a scheduled time for drawing each day and you can make it into a game that kids will enjoy!. For me I'll just call out a topic and they'll start drawing!. Then when they draw lots of things you can mix them up and tell them to find the same topic and flip it over!.!.!. like the card game that you have to find a pair for each card!.
there's another game where you say out loud things like "triangle in the middle, circle on one of the tips of triangle" and make a picture out of it, This needs some preparation yourself before you do it!. then you can also let them choose different kinds of tools!. first with color pencils!. then later buy them some color pens then later some paint!.
I don't think it'll be a good idea to show them all at the same time because then they'll use them right away then get bored of itWww@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the age, I think!. Preschoolers love sitting down with mommy or daddy and scribbling allover a blank page!.

Older children like games and a game of charades might be just the ticket!. There are many drawing books for kids- how to draw animals, super heroes- even my little pony!. You could always pick up a few from the library and explore them with your child!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Show them how to draw their favorite cartoons!. That's a good way to catch their attention!. Then you can show them like dogs, or cats or something else that might intrigue them!. Then you can work on more applicable subjects!.

As for the comment on treats, If that is suggesting food, I would disagree!. Using food as treats is only supporting obescity (in my opinion)Www@QuestionHome@Com

It really depends on how old they are, but its usually not too hard to get them into it!.

I mean if all else fails pull out the finger paint, and have a messy great time!.

My first experience with drawing came from my brother bringing me comic books from his tour of duty in japan!. I was only about 4 or 5 years old and I missed my brother so i read the comic books constantly, and eventually my mom convinced me to start drawing my own!.!.!.and the next thing you know im an art geek!.

say who ever can draw the best picture gets a treat but then say there all so good i cant chose and give them all a treat you dont want them to feel left out or there not as good as other people and give up
